Victors Smoothie

This smoothie is full of caffeine because it's what you need to run a 5k in 28 degree weather when it's snowing.  I was feeling a little miserable as we made the early morning drive to Ann Arbor in the flurries. Feeling even more miserable as we made our way from the car to the start line in the cold wind. Finally about a mile into the run my body started to warm up and it finally became worth all the misery as I made my way through the tunnel to the 50 yard line. Somehow running is my least favorite, and favorite thing to do.  The accomplished feeling I get crossing the finish line while my amazing husband cheers me on from his spot on the finish line makes it all worth while.

Panda Bear Smoothie

Panda Bear…that name is for me to remember someone wonderful on his 30th birthday.  

The avocado in this should be medium sized and the milk I used is 2%.  The book you see in the back ground of this picture is "Eat This, Not That".  I never did read the entire thing but I get a lot of helpful advice from it including what types of this to add to my smoothies to make them healthier.  Today's smoothie included flax seed, which adds nothing to the taste of the smoothie but is considered a superfood.

Cheer Coach Smoothie

As it turns out naming smoothies after what's in them can get a little repetitive. I feel like I'd end up with most of them being "banana and something smoothie". Instead I've decided to either give them completely random names, or name them after something going on in my life at the moment. This one in particular is named because today is my second day coaching cheer and the first time one of the girls ever referred to me as "Coach Jessica". I think it has a nice ring to it, don't you?

Wish it was summer smoothie

I canNOT believe it was snowing yesterday!  Just last week I was outside in a t-shirt and with this cold weather spell, which hopefully goes away soon, I needed a smoothie that made me feel like I was drinking it on a beach somewhere.  For those of you who really ARE on a beach somewhere…just add a little coconut rum  ;)
